The Central American Institute for biological Research and Conservation (CIBRC) has the goal to promote and support the scientific research in the areas of conservation and research in the Isthmus. With this goal in mind the CIBRC pursue the incorporation of researchers in the Mesoamerican region in the production of knowledge and its applications in the fields of science and conservation.
Antecedents
The goals of the CIBRC surge as a response to the current necessity in the promotion and development of the biological sciences and related fields in the Mesoamerican area. Historically, the public universities in Central America have been traditionally the source points for the production of basic and applied scientific knowledge, however in the as 15 years the economic policies and directresses in the Central American countries have resulted in the budget cuts for science in general. Currently, young scientists from the region after their graduations have no options of been hired by the scientific circles in
