Introduction
The Direction of Research promote basic as well as applied research in the areas of biology and conservation biology. To achieve this goal the Direction provides institutional support and technical advise for those project accepted by the CIBRC. Also, the CIBRC through the Direction of Research advises in the adquisition of founds for the approved projects as well as advise for the projects through their associated personnel. One goal of our institution is to promote the career development of young researchers by assisting them in the elaboration and execution of their projects in the Central American Isthmus.

The research personnel at the CIBRC are under the supervision of to the Direction of Research, through which the research and conservation projects are executed and directed. Currently, those researchers which are included in the category of Associative Researcher have the opportunity to develop specific research programs as well as involve postgraduate students in them.

The category of Adjunct Researcher is given to pre-graduate students whom are developing research for their thesis through the CIBRC or associated institutions. These researchers are also supervised to the Direction of Research
