About the courses that are imparted by the CIBRC

 

The courses are design to be imparted to a wide range of sectors interested in them. The courses make emphasis in applied and theoretical aspects of the topics cover by them.
The courses are designed to maximize the learning experience of the students through the hands on approach in the field as well as in class. These courses have a wide variety of texts and associated scientific literature that will be at the disposition of the participants in them.

 

Short Courses and workshops The CIBRC bring courses targeting a wide set of potential takers, from graduate students to the general public. Also, the CIBRC develop workshops and training courses for specific groups in specific topics requested by the different groups interested in them. More...

Field EcologyThe Field Ecology course is an advance course for students in related careers to the biological sciences. The course has the objective to train young professionals in the planning, design and implementation of projects in ecology in the field. Systematics and Ecology The classification and inventory of the planet biodiversity have become the main topic of discussion and action in conservation efforts. The implications of the systematic studies are wide and range from their taxonomic implications in the recognition of key taxa to protect in the legal framework of the ecological efforts to the study of biogeographic patterns of distribution of flora and fauna for re-introductions and habitat rehabilitation. The course have the objective to introduce the students to the basic concepts in systematics, particularly the cladistic school as an example of what can be done in the ecological framework through the utilization of systematics in conservation. Naturalists Guides The ecotourism when is understood as a way of environmental education aloud for the acquisition of revenue to the residents of the communities around the national parks through the use of the natural resources in a sustainable manner. Additionally, ecotourism incorporates an extra level to the tourist as well to the local residents by the re-valorizing of the local traditions, culture and the natural resources around them, aspects normally non-appreciated by the local tourist in most of the cases.
